MAMZI: Egyptian Fashion, Reimagined for the World
Founded in 2014 by designer Mariam Magdy Abdelghany, MAMZI is an Egyptian fashion label whose collections are both designed and produced in Egypt. The brand blends classic silhouettes with contemporary details.
Mariam has been sketching clothing since childhood. She studied Mass Communications and Art at the American University in Cairo, then pursued womenswear at the Italian Fashion Academy. In 2014, she launched MAMZI.
Each collection draws inspiration from different sources, with fabrics, cuts, and details evolving from one season to another. The brand incorporates traditional and contemporary techniques in its designs instead of merely following seasonal trends.
The label began in Egypt before expanding into international markets. By 2019, MAMZI was selling both locally and overseas. Today, the brand continues to design and produce its womenswear in Egypt.
“There are no limits or boundaries to concepts and new ideas. I allow my imagination to guide all of my designs,” says Mariam Abdelghany. This sense of freedom is evident in each collection, which continues to explore diverse concepts and design approaches.
She continues to develop the label from Egypt, maintaining local production.
